RADIAN Poland workshop

Held in Rzeszow (Poland),  4 December
To promote research collaboration between organisations in the unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) vertical, the RADIAN project organises a series of thematic workshops. The second RADIAN regional workshop on UAS took place on 4 December, 2018, in Rzeszow (Poland) in the framework of AERONET ”Dolina Lotnicza” conference.

The workshop gave a comprehensive overview of the Polish regulatory framework pertaining to UAS. The Cluster of Unmanned Systems (http://klaster.systemybezzalogowe.pl/) introduced UAV industry in Poland and a market for drone services. Some of the most ambitious R&D projects of Polish companies and R&D institutions were also presented.

The speakers included:
Tõnis Eerme from Invent Baltics introduced the RADIAN project.
Józef Brzęczek from Rzeszow University of Technology, (the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics) held a presentation on related legal issues and regulations.
Grzegorz Łobodziński, the coordinator of Cluster of Unmanned Systems, talked about the UAV market in Poland.

There were also presentations on the technological trends for UAV in Poland. Speakers included Andrzej Majka (PhD) from Rzeszow University of Technology, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics, who gave two presentations on the topic; Tomasz Rogalski (PhD D.Sc.), the Head of Avionics group at the Rzeszow University of Technology, discussed the project ERA; and Janusz Michalcewicz the President of Eurotech Sp. z o.o. and Paweł Chojnacki WSK PZL – Świdnik S.A. a Leonardo Company also commented on the topic.
